Dacha Office is a small residential architecture and interior design studio based in Seattle. Founded by a designer with family ties to Eastern Europe, the concept of a dacha was chosen to represent the studio because of its practical yet deeply personal nature. Dacha Office is built on promoting this balance and designing spaces for the way their clients live and approach life, without one-size-fits-most solutions.
The wordmark follows these same principles- simple, utilitarian, and legible with subtle variations to ink traps and ligatures that tie its curves to the brandmark.
That brandmark began as a simple rhombus, a shape commonly used in Slavic imagery to represent protection and connectivity between earth and sky. Through iteration, the mark took on curves that mimicked rooflines of traditional dacha buildings.
